I do believe something magical can happen when you read a book.-J. K. Rowling
March was quite a challenge for me. There were lots of personal struggles, exams andstressful moments. In addition, it seems like I was always gone for a new adventure (click here to check out my blog post about one adventure to Lago di Braies). However, I still found some time to relax and read. This month I read three books and all deal with a different topic, so here we go:
Sentenced to Death Three Times – Shlomo Graber
Shlomo Graber and his family have been taken to the ghetto in April 1944 , and one month later they have been sent to Auschwitz. Except for Shlomo and his father, the entire family was persecuted and murdered by the Nazis. Further stages of horror were the Fünfteichen and Görlitz concentration camps. Shlomo Graber tells his story surviving the terror of the Nazi´s. The topic the book is about is definitely not an easy one but I believe that it is really important to get as many informations about this time as possible in order to prevent such terror to happen again!
The 4-Hour Work Week – Timothy Ferriss
Lately, I love reading life-changing books like this one. Forget the old concept of retirement and working non-stop only to get as much money as possible. There is no need to be a workaholic and spent your whole life only waiting for two weeks of holiday a year, summer and retirement. Especially in this unpredictable economic times, everything is possible right NOW. If you want to live more and work less, this book is the blueprint!
Veronika decides to die – Paulo Coelho
Young Veronika seems to have everything but something is missing in her life. So, one cold morning Veronika decides to die. This book questions the meaning of madness and celebrates individuals who do not fit into patterns society considers to be normal. This book is and has always been one of my favourite novels from Paulo Coelho. It portraits a young woman close to despair and liberation and invites its readers to celebrate each day as a renewed opportunity.
I really hope, you liked my reading diary from March. For April I already have some great books on my list to read, but please let me know, if you have any tips for me!
Lots of Love & Light,
