it leaves you speechless,
then turns you
into a storyteller
I do not know when I started to feel this urge to travel, get lost in new cities and dive in foreign cultures. Travelling is the perfect way to recharge my batteries and clear my mind. I feel better to see and experience the unknown and I cannot wait to pack my bags again (only three more weeks to ago…stay tuned).
However, I know that it can be quite complecated to find enough time and money to travel as often as our heart is longing for. This is the reason behind this blogpost – I want to share my favourite hacks with you to travel more, go on adventures and see & experience as much as possible from this beautiful planet.
Live a minimalist lifestyle
This lifestyle was in so money way beneficial, but first of all, it really helped me to save some money. But even if this way of life is preached quite often in the last years, it is not always easy to start. Here are a few ways that helped me to start living a more minimalistic life and save some money:
-only purchase the material possessions that I really need.
-I try to limit my spendings when it comes to going out for coffee food
-when I shop for groceries, I try to find affordable options and follow a simple diet
When it comes to simplify your life, the question is all about if the item you wanna buy will truly make you happy and will make a positive impact in your life. And always remember: “Travelling, the only thing you buy that makes you richer“.
Use your weekend wisely
Take advantage of the free time you have during the weekends. Instead of sleeping in and staying in bed, pack your most essential necessities and go on a short getaway. In this way, you do not have to take any time off from work.
Visit cheap destinations
Many countries in Europe/USA are really expensive and if you chose to travel to a destination where your currency is strong against the local one. Soouth East Asia, East Europe and smaller cities in Middle Europe are quite affordable and your travel fund will stretch further by heading to such destinations.
Use Skyscanner´s “Everywhere
If you just wanna travel somewhere and you do not care about the destination, then you should definitely check out the option “Everywhere” on Skyscanner. Just type in your starting destination and enter the dates you wanna travel. Skyscanner will then find the cheapest options you can fly on those days.
Stay in hostels
It might not be the most luxury way to travel, but it is definitely the most fun, exciting and cheapest one. Not only, you will meet some amazing people, you will also save a lot of money as hostels are always not as expensive as a hotel. There is often a kitchen you can use, which is just another positive side effect to save money for travelling.
Prioritize travel over everything else
If you really wanna travel and see the world you might have to make some sacrifices in other parts of your life. You might miss some family events and maybe some people won´t understand why you limit your spendings. But always remember what you are saving for.
I hope this post will help you to travel more in 2019. I believe that by travelling more and filling our life with amazing memories, we feel more alive, happy and present. Feel free to share your own tips in the comments to travel more.
