Confidence is not, ‚They will like me‘.
Confidence instead is, ‚I’ll be fine if they don’t‘.
There are days when my heart is racing and I am too afraid of ANYTHING. At first, I might seem quite confident, but in real life, I can be really shy. Far too often, I am too afraid of failing, disappointing someone and be left out. I am filled with doubt when it comes to my own strengths and I am of the opinion that I will never be good enough.
However, if you don’t believe in yourself, how can others believe in you?
With this Selfcare Sunday post I want to share some hacks to be more confident and be proud of who you are
What can you do best. Maybe you are good in drawing or singing; maybe you can remember a lot or learn a new language easily. Whatever it is, you are good at, practise your skills every day. Not only to get better (and you will, for sure), but also to do something successful and be proud of what you achieve!
Learn to say no. It is absolutely important to stick to your beliefs and people should respect your decision. If you do not like partying all night, then do not do it. You shall never follow the crowd because you want to make friends. Take your time, people, who share the same interests will come around. Just be patient.
Find your inner peace. Try to meditate every single day for at least five minutes, go for a run or do some yoga. Whatever calms you down and let´s you find balance in life, should be part of your daily routine. Maybe this does not relate to building up a strong self-esteem, but believe me, with a calm mind comes a strong soul.
Face your fears. We are all scared of something and eventhough, I said before that you should always stick to your beliefs and learn to say no, try to differ, if you really do not wanna do something or is there just something that scares the hell out of you? Life can be absolutely scary, but if we always live by our fears, we will never live to the fullest.
Be proud of your past. We all make mistakes. We get hurt and we cause pain ever. We make good and at first sight not so good decisions. However, every decision we made, got us here. It is only a mistake, if we do not decide to learn from it! Try, fail, learn, grow and then try again!
“And one day she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.”
